Stars and Sparkles Foundation is a community initiative, started by Stars and Sparkles CIC in association with Stars Day Nurseries. It was launched to support financially struggling parents in Peterborough. The Foundation will be running a series of campaigns to support parents in the local area.

The Wrap Up Campaign, launching in October, will see the Foundation collecting used children's coats and providing them to the families who are facing financial pressures across the city.

Stars and Sparkles fundraising Manager Katie Clipston said, “At a time when families across Peterborough are facing uncertain times, we need to support each other. We want to ensure every child in Peterborough has their basic needs met and is warm. If a child’s basics needs are met, they have better chances of learning and reaching their full potential. Our campaigns are all focussed on supporting local families and helping children to achieve.”

Mohammed Younis of Stars Day Nurseries said, “We have supported many families over many years, but the need for support is growing, particularly during these challenging times. If we can help alleviate some of the pressures by supporting Stars and Sparkles Foundation, then the benefits for the children will be evident as they prepare for school and further education.”

The Wrap Up Campaign will be launching at the end of October but the Foundation will be collecting any unwanted coats prior to the launch date.

Stars and Sparkles CIC was established in 2019 by owners and directors of Stars Day Nurseries. After working in the sector for 15 years, the need for community-based support for families became more evident. More and more, over the last few years, Stars employees have implemented initiatives to bridge the gaps and make life easier for children they work with. From the experience of working in the most disadvantaged areas of the city, it has provided the foundation, experience, passion, and commitment to support families in the local communities.
